The MITECO completes the first environmental restoration project in the Sierra Minera of Cartagena and La Unión

The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) completes the environmental remediation of the Sierra Minera with the sealing of seven deposits in El Llano del Beal and El Estrecho de San Ginés (Cartagena).

The intervention will prevent hundreds of tons of sediment containing heavy metals from reaching the Mar Menor and will reduce the impact on the health of the 2,400 inhabitants of the Beal district.
