New grant program for complementary sanitation and wastewater treatment measures
The actions carried out by the municipalities with the subsidies obtained for sanitation and wastewater treatment through Royal Decree 730/2022 have contributed to reducing the discharge of pollutants and nutrients into the lagoon. To ensure the continued funding and implementation of these actions and further contribute to the improvement of the Mar Menor, new subsidies will be granted to the same municipalities, prioritizing stormwater separation and sustainable drainage systems. A total of €20 million has been allocated for this purpose.
